Earlier this year, Reading Studio students got the opportunity to perform in Penny Mob’s new music video, 21st Century Kids.
As part of their work experience programme, delivered by Reading Rep, 10 UAL Performing and Production Arts Level 3 Extended Diploma students were selected to perform in the indie band’s video in March 2018.
This was a professional opportunity to be in a music video, allowing students to experience industry standard filming and to work and learn alongside professionals in an incredibly competitive and desirable industry.
The shoot took place in a pub in Dalston, London, with students working alongside the creative team throughout.
This work experience opportunity was only made possible through Activate Learning’s partnership with professional theatre company, Reading Rep.
As well as delivering on the Performing Arts course, Reading Rep secures relevant, exciting and unique work experience opportunities for all Reading Studio students.
Students have also performed at the Reading on Thames Festival, delivered dance and drama workshops in infant schools which complimented the Reading Rep’s Christmas show, and have even been selected to perform in Disney World Florida twice in two years.
From participating in the video, all students now have a professional credit on their CV which will set them apart from many other candidates when auditioning for conservatoire training.
The video was released last month and can be watched on YouTube here.
