Introducing our international courses
Most of our courses are available to international students and we can offer you training from entry to graduate level:
If you are an international student and want to improve your English, you've come to the right place!
We have a wide range of English language courses on offer. Whether you want to use English more effectively in everyday life, or to study in the UK, we can help.
We are British Council accredited for the teaching of English, and our English classes are led by highly qualified teachers. They will help you improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in an English speaking environment. Many students complete their English course with us and then move on to study A-levels or our International Study Programme or leave to study at university.
In the UK, A-levels are the most popular entry route to university. Students must be 16 or over and have a Level 2 qualification, such as five GCSEs grade A*-C. International students need to hold equivalent qualifications and an IELTS score of 5.5.
Starting in September every year, A-levels are a two year course during which you will study four subjects. You will primarily learn in the classroom and will be assessed through written exams and essays.
You can find more information on your options on our City of Oxford College and Reading College sites.
LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA / VOCATIONAL COURSES
If you prefer to learn in a practical environment, vocational courses such as BTECs are ideal.
Over two years you will train for a career in a specific industry. BTECs will help you develop the skills and knowledge to either head straight into employment or progress on to university. Level 3 vocational qualifications are equivalent to A-levels. You will be assessed through assignments and demonstrations of your practical skills.
International entry requirements for our BTEC courses need to be equivalent to four or five GCSEs, grade A*-C. You will also need a minimum IELTS score of 5.5.
PREPARATION FOR UNIVERSITY
If your qualifications don't meet university requirements here in the UK or if you feel you need some course specific preparation before starting your degree, we might have the course for you.
The one-year International Foundation Programme in Business will help you develop your English and subject knowledge, so you can progress on to degree-level study.
During the course, you will study both English and business, alongside tutorials and study skills. You will improve your English language skills and develop your research, time management and independent learning skills.
The one-year Access course prepares adult students (minimum 19 years old) for entry into university in their chosen field. Courses offered are in:
Art and Design
Nursing and Healthcare
We also offer Higher Education courses to international students.
Our Higher Education courses are equivalent to the first two years of a university degree. Once you have completed your two years of study with us, you can head straight into employment or ‘top-up’ your qualification to a full honours degree with another year of study at a university of your choice.
International entry requirements can be found on UCAS.
